Privacy policy

The short version

WalkAwayFI is local-first by design. The financial data you enter in the planner is stored in your own browser (or in the single file you download) and never reaches our servers. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no telemetry, and the app makes no network requests until you press a button that needs one.

What the app itself handles

Your plan — accounts, balances, income, expenses, scenarios — lives in your browser's local storage or in your exported files. We cannot see it, back it up, or recover it for you. Clearing your browser's site data deletes it, so use Data → Export for backups.

When you press a refresh button for live prices or exchange rates, the app requests public market data only (ticker symbols and dates — never your holdings, amounts, or plan). Pro users' requests include their licence key so our market-data server can confirm the licence is active. Licence activation and re-validation each make one request to Lemon Squeezy containing your key.

What we do collect, and who processes it

Waitlist emails — collected through Tally if you join the waitlist. Used to send launch-related email you consented to; every email includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing removes you from the list.
Purchases — handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. They process your name, email, and payment details; we receive your email and licence status, never your payment card.
Feedback — if you email feedback@walkawayfi.com, we keep the correspondence to respond and improve the product.
Hosting — walkawayfi.com is served by Cloudflare, which processes standard server logs (IP address, request path) to deliver and protect the site. We run no additional analytics.

Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe from emails at any time, ask us to delete waitlist or correspondence data by emailing feedback@walkawayfi.com, and manage or cancel subscriptions through the Lemon Squeezy portal linked in your receipt. Your planner data needs no request — it's already only on your machine.
